Screw driver was a good idea, but instead of using it to flex the tray, flip the tray over and use the screw driver to depress the pins. The rubber harness will deform enough for the pin to slip in without the tray needing to flex

Hey any alternatives to the 700b in 2024? Aside from the corsair SF750. I'm also using using it for a precision 3620 with an rtx 2060. The sf750 is what I keep seeing everywhere but looking for any insight on possible options outside of that.

Hey, I have a T7910 and I cloned my original sata SSD to my 1TB NVME samsung 970 using acronis true image. The nvme drive is seen by the bios and was moved to the first boot order position like you have done. However when booting up the LSI corp says "WARNING:Preferred boot device missing, reconfiguration is suggested!" Im not sure what else to do ive played around with the dell BIOS but nothing seems to work and Im unable to boot into the nvme drive

When you say "The fan will always be running" you mean that there is no PWM? I mean, if the Noctua fan is 4-pin, I would expect the PWM to work. If the 5th pin is required by the motherboard to do PWM, wouldn't that keep warning on every boot that the fan has failure? What are the noise levels of this? I'm looking to replace the stock cooler (already tried the Dell AIO) just so I can reduce the noise levels. Thanks!

Hi not sure if anyone can help but I’ve done these exact steps but it won’t come up as a drive on my t5810. Someone said to flash update the bios but for some reason my bios is password protected which I do not know the password to. It is an old company PC so I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to find it. Is there any work around? Or do I need to cut my losses and go for an m.2 to sata adapter 😅

Is there any real reason to be upgrading the cpu cooler if it doesn’t affect frames? Based on your test it did run 10-15 deg cooler but it didn’t seem to gain any performance increase? It’s not like you can overclock it right? Can someone explain the benefits of this to me because I have a T5810 and wanna know if it’s worth. Cheers!

G'day mate! Thanks for this video. I really appreciate the effort. Just got my T5820 (XEON w-2255) two weeks ago and upgraded my graphics card from quadro P620 to Nvidia RTX 3090 today. It works really well. Though there were few challenges, like modifying the case but it was worth it. You can add 3090 in your website. Cheers!!

Hi I've just watched your video but the HP site only shows Firmware from 2013??

An x4-slot is just as fast as an x16 slot. The x4 slot has 4 lanes connected, the x16 slot has 16 lanes connected. That NVME-card is an x4-card, so can only use 4 lanes. The NVME can't even use more than 4 lanes, so you are wasting 12 lanes by doing this, and you are blocking airflow into the video card. Better put it in the X4-slot that was designed for it above the video card, and probably it will be even faster. That top slot is connected to the CPU, the second X-16 sot is connected to the north-bridge, and therefore always has a bigger latency.

I'm running a Z4G4 with Xeon W-2125, 32gb RAM and a RTX 4060 8gb, dual nvme:s for storage. Price/performance very good, runs most fps games fluently on 1080p and high/ultra settings. Might need to upgrade the processor cooling though, on some games core temps creep up to over 90c. But overall, very good platform for easy and affordable gaming.

Bottom line why? casn it go further to window's 11 asnd move to hold a newer i7 series motherboard & cpu. In other words is it an upgradeable pwr Sup & Case

It seems that the T7920s doesn't support third party quad-NVME adapters (booting, no. Seeing the actual drives via separate Win 11 OS on a SATA SSD in one of the flex bays, yes) so I've purchased an official dell dual-NVME pcie adapter. I only have two NVMEs on me at the time plus it was a good deal off of ebay. I'm hoping that would be the easiest fix to my boot issue here with my recently purchased t7920 On a side note, I've also been having trouble with the 8 pin power cable clearance for my RTX 4060 OC graphics card in the top PCIE lanes. My quickest workaround with that is to have the side panel hanging via twist-ties & having the intrusion switch covered with tape to trip the switch. In the meantime, I've ordered a right angle 8 pin male to 8 pin female adapter to hopefully give just a bit more clearance to the side panel closing. Has anyone else had any issues with RTX 40xx graphics cards in the T7920 and/or 3rd party 4x NVME pci-e adapters?

I just purchased an HP Z4 G4 Xeon 2145. Do you have any suggestions in how I can render 4K video faster in using video editing programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects? I’m not really in tune with hardware, but will a newer GPU and more memory ram help in rendering at a faster speed?
